Welcome! Did you get any inspiration from the article in Toyota Owners Magazine Sept/Oct 2014 issue? Really nice article on a double cab but he left it IFS but heavily modified of coarse.
This will be a fun one to watch.

Glad to be here.I just figured at this point it would be nice to have something newer with some power .It will be more of a daily driver/weekend warrior rig that i can drive to and from the trails.

Hi everyone.
I'm Bob (Bobcat) I live near the Tahoe end of the Rubicon trail and have been 4 wheeling the Rubicon since the 1980s.
I'm currently building up my wife's 85 Toyota 4x4 pickup , I put in a remanufactured 22re last summer that I got from Dave'z off road.
Actually it's the original engine that Dave'z remanufactured for me (passed smog and runs great by the way)
The truck has about 5 or 6 of lift and is running 35" tires, was lifted when the wife bought it and she rolled it not long after she bought it so since then I have put a new cab on it and a fresh engine and have been redoing everything correctly bit by bit.
Will try and post pics asap.
We also have a 2000 tundra 4x4 and I also have a CJ7 with 1 ton axles a atlas transfer case T18 transmission and ford 5.0 v8 beadlocked wheels winch etc......
The wife wants her Toyota built somewhat like my Jeep so I have some work to do but it's already a very capable rig, it's been through the Rubicon along with my jeep and it carried most of our camp gear.
Plans are for a winch,e-locker,roll cage,lower ratio RnP gears,bead locks,and eventually rewire.

Afterbought my 4runner 06/2017, rebuilt the motor with a ported head and a cam, rebuilt the axles with marlin seals and lockers and all that good stuff. Now to 3 link and dual cases..... this is a good idea right?
