Rebuilding my 4Runner, almost finished

Postby MikeC » Tue Jun 04, 2019 7:27 am

I started tearing my truck apart over 2 years ago, and every now and then I would work on it. Last fall I joined a new wheeling club to motivate me to finish my truck and get it back on the trail. I registered for a event in July, with a goal on getting it on the road mid June.

Here is a short list of the changes I made during the rebuild...
- New timing chain
- New clutch, slave, and master
- All new brake lines
- Upgraded to a late model 22re intake and throttle body
- High flow ebay fuel injectors
- 120a alternator
- TG Power steering pump
- Battery/AFM swap
- De-pinned every single connector on the ECU harness that I was no longer using, rewrapped the harness
- New oil pan
- Lots of new bolts
- Trunion bearing eliminator kit
- Rock assault housing
- Frame re-enforcement plates
- New front shock hoops
- Painted just about everything under the hood

After some time, I decided to fix up my inner wheel wells, and respray the engine bay.... On a trail rig :bash:

I also had some rust to repair under my pedals

One of the little details, I fabbed up a bracket for my proportioning valve.

And here is what the engine bay looks like now :yahoo:

This was my first attempt at a bracket to mount the AFM. I need to make a couple changes, but it was very close to working.

Here is my list of things to finish up.
- new battery mount top plate
- clean up battery wires
- finish the front axle
- clean up some wiring in the cab
- reinstall seats
- bleed brakes and clutch
- install drive shafts
- test drive :mudtaco: :steer:
